Dapoxetine hydrochloride is chemically named (S)-N, N-dimethyl-3 -(naphthyl-1-oxy) -phenylalanine hydrochloride. Dapoxetine hydrochloride has similar pharmacological effects to other SSRIs. Dapoxetine was originally studied as an antidepressant, but unlike other SSRIs, dapoxetine pharmacokinetics showed rapid oral absorption, short half-life, and rapid excretion, making it suitable for the treatment of premature ejaculation when needed.
Dapoxetine hydrochloride is white to white powder. This product is soluble in methanol, ethanol, slightly soluble in dichloroethane, almost insoluble in water. Dapoxetine hydrochloride is a BCSII compound, poor solubility is the key factor affecting the difference of clinical efficacy.
