Dapoxetin hydrochloride is chemically named (S)-N, N-dimethyl-3 -(naphthyl-1-oxy) -phenylalanine hydrochloride. Dapoxetin hydrochloride has similar pharmacological effects to other SSRIs. Dapoxetin was originally studied as an antidepressant, but unlike other SSRIs, dapoxetin pharmacokinetics showed rapid oral absorption, short half-life, and rapid excretion, making it suitable for the treatment of premature ejaculation when needed.
Dapoxetin hydrochloride is white to white powder. This product is soluble in methanol, ethanol, slightly soluble in dichloroethane, almost insoluble in water. Dapoxetin hydrochloride is a BCSII compound, poor solubility is the key factor affecting the difference of clinical efficacy. Dapoxetin hydrochloride has many crystal types, and the solubility of different crystal types is very different, and there are phase and transformation phenomena between crystal types.
Dapoxetin hydrochloride is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
